When the tide comes in at the Loughor Estuary marshland in Gower, South Wales, it can be quite a dangerous situation. Of course, the horses in the area have been dealing with it for centuries but from time to time, they find themselves in a precarious situation. Recently, the RSPCA noticed that something was wrong in the marshland and they decided to go investigate.
What they found was a young foal that was standing over his mother. The mother was dealing with a rather unusual problem, because her rear hoof had become entangled in her mane. She couldn’t seem to get her balance and it is difficult to tell how long she had been in such a situation. Fortunately, these men were willing to help and as the foal galloped around in the background, they cut her leg free.
After she was freed, it is difficult to tell if she knew that she no longer had the difficulty. One thing is certain, it was hard for her to stand up again and it took some time for the blood to get back in the area. After it did, the mother and her foal were off again for more adventures.
