With the possible exception of David Walliams who always seems to choose a weird and wonderful act for his golden buzzer choice, it takes a very special act to get anyone else to press their golden buzzer. But this year the act which got Ant and Dec to press their buzzer w truly exceptional.
At the tender age of 14, Jasmine Elcock from Essex blew all the judges away with her amazing performance of the Cher hit “Believe”. Alesha Dixon was an emotional wreck blubbering everywhere, and all of the other judges were awestruck, but it was Ant and Dec who had the wherewithal to actually hit their golden buzzer. For those of you who don’t know each judge, plus Ant and Dec the presenters have a special golden buzzer which they can only use once in every season. Any act who receives a golden buzzer gets direct entry straight into the live shows, so it is an excellent bonus to get picked.
Simon Cowell, never one for lavishing praise easily said ‘You know what, I was at one point losing the will to live, thinking maybe all the talent has gone, And now you come along, with such a great voice, so charming. Let me tell you…I think this country’s totally going to fall in love with you.’ Praise indeed from Mr. Cowell and well deserved as you will see once you watch the video below.
